Podkraj (pronounced [ˈpoːtkɾai̯]) is a village southeast of Col in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in the Littoral region of Slovenia.
It also includes smaller clusters of the hamlets of Trševje, Sreboti, and Hrušica (German: Birnbaum)[2] as well as a number of isolated farmsteads along the road from Col to Kalce.
[3] The Ad Pirum archaeological site is located in the hamlet of Hrušica.
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Margaret and belongs to the Diocese of Koper.
[4] The ruins of a 15th-century church dedicated to Saint Gertrude lie in the hamlet of Hrušica.
