Poste Adélard-Godbout

The Poste Adélard-Godbout is a 120 kV electrical substation in Old Montreal.

It has a facade in clay brick with grey stone ornaments.

Initially it received 12 kV current from the now defunct Lachine hydroelectric generating station.

[1] It was built by the Montreal Light, Heat & Power Company (MLHPC) and became the property of Hydro-Québec in 1944 during the nationalization of Quebec's electrical infrastructure.

[2] Originally Poste Central-1, in 2007 it was renamed after former Premier of Quebec Adélard Godbout on the 50th anniversary of his death.
