Pouzdřany

Pouzdřany (German: Pausram) is a municipality and village in Břeclav District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

In the 13th century, it was property of Boček of Obřany, the convent in Dolní Kounice, and Jindřich of Liechtenstein.

In 1581, during the rule of Friedrich of Zierotin, Poudřany was promoted to a market town by Emperor Rudolf II.

Following the Munich Agreement in 1938, the municipality was annexed by Nazi Germany and administered as part of the Reichsgau Niederdonau until 1945.

After World War II, the municipality fell back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled as a result of the Beneš decrees.
