Poygan, Wisconsin

Poygan is a town in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, United States.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93.5 km2), of which 23.1 square miles (59.9 km2) is land and 12.9 square miles (33.5 km2), or 35.89%, is water,[3] consisting mainly of a portion of Lake Poygan on the Wolf River.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,037 people, 397 households, and 308 families residing in the town.

There were 532 housing units at an average density of 22.8 per square mile (8.8/km2).

17.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
