At present he is Member of the Legislative Assembly – Ovala-Majiwada (Vidhan Sabha constituency), Communication Leader- Mira Bhayander, Shivsena, Chairman- Vihang Group of companies, Founder & President- Sanskruti Yuva Pratishthan.

Pratap Sarnaik started his political career with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
