(ME) IISc Bangalore Prem Shanker Goel (born 20 April 1947) is an Indian space scientist,[1] former secretary at the Department of Ocean Development,[2] Ministry of Earth Sciences,[3] Government of India and a former director of Indian Space Research Organization.
[4][5][6] He was honored by the Government of India, in 2001, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
[7] Born on 20 April 1947[1][5] in the Rajputana Agency of the British Raj (now the Indian state of Rajasthan), he graduate from M.B.M.
[3][4] On his retirement from ISRO in 2005, he was appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Ocean Development,[2] a post he held till 2008.
The next move was as the Chairman of Recruitment and Assessment Centre of the Defence Research and Development Organisation.
