Prescott Township was organized in 1861, and named for a pioneer settler.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 222 people, 82 households, and 66 families residing in the township.

The racial makeup of the township was 99.10% White, 0.90% from other races.

19.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 8.0% of families and 8.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.2% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those 65 or over.
