Privolzhsky District, Astrakhan Oblast

Privolzhsky District (Russian: Приво́лжский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the eleven in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia.

The area of the district is 840.9 square kilometers (324.7 sq mi).

[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Nachalovo.

Ethnic minorities include Tatars (30%), Kazakhs (16%) and Turkmens (4%).

The entire district lies within the delta of the Volga River, although it is separated from the Caspian Sea by Kamyzyaksky District.
