Prospect Hill (Massachusetts)

Prospect Hill is a mountain in Dukes County, Massachusetts.

It is on Martha's Vineyard 1.6 miles (2.6 km) north of the town of Chilmark.

Prospect Hill was the location of George Washington's command post during the Siege of Boston in the American Revolution.

On New Year's Day in 1776, Washington conducted a flag-raising ceremony to raise the morale of the men of the Continental Army.

[2] Others, such as Byron DeLear, have argued in favour of the traditional version of events.
