Qods (Persian: قدس)[a] is a city in the Central District of Qods County, Tehran province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.

[4] At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 229,354 in 60,331 households,[5] when it was capital of the former Qods District of Shahriar County.

[6] The following census in 2011 counted 283,517 people in 83,035 households,[7] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Qods County, with Qods as its capital.

[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 309,605 people in 94,532 households.
