The Flinders Highway forms a part of the locality's eastern boundary.

[6][7] Queenton State School opened on 13 July 1891 and closed on 1 September 1931.

[9][10][11] The facility was named after Hugh Mosman, who found gold at Charters Towers.It was operated by the Queensland Government at 35 Gladstone Road (20°04′36″S 146°16′51″E / 20.0768°S 146.2807°E / -20.0768; 146.2807 (MOSMAN HALL SPECIAL HOSPITAL)).
