[1][2][3][4] Mathur had retired as the India's Defence Secretary, two years after being appointed to the post on 25 May 2013.

[5][6] He also holds an MBA degree from International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE), Ljubljana, Slovenia.

[5][6] Mathur also served as the Private Secretary, on separate occasions, to Ministers of External Affairs and Information and Broadcasting.

[5][7][8][9] He assumed the office of Defence Secretary on 25 May 2013 and demitted it and simultaneously superannuated from the service on 24 May 2015.

[10][11][12] Radha Krishna Mathur was appointed to be the first Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh by the President of India on 25 October 2019.
