Her father, Oleksiy (1903–1973), worked as the senior blast-furnace keeper[6] at the Dniprovsky Metallurgical Plant.
[7] In 1968, Raisa Khylko graduated from the Kyiv State Choreographic College,[8] where her pedagogue was Natalia Verekundova,[9] a pupil of Agrippina Vaganova.
Among her pupils are Elizaveta Cheprasova, Anna Muromtseva,[20] Julia Moskalenko,[21] Alisa Voronova, Anastasia Shevchenko,[22] Veronika Gordina, and Natalia Lazebnikova.
[23] For 26 years of her career as a ballet dancer, R. Khylko’s partners were V. Nekrasov,[43] S. Lukin, V. Kovtun, V. Fedotov,[44] M. Pryadchenko,[45] V. Fedorchenko, V. Vidineyev,[46] A. Ratmansky, and others.
She participated in the performances staged by such renowned choreographers as А. Shekera,[47] O. Vinogradov,[48] V. Litvinov, G. Kovtun,[49] H. Mayorov, R. Klyavin, М.-E. Murdmaa[50] As a guest performer and member of the ballet company of the National Opera of Ukraine, Raisa Khylko toured[51] Japan,[52] Italy, Spain, France,[53] Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Bulgaria, Egypt, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Nicaragua.
