Ranchi–Varanasi Vande Bharat Express

The 20887/20888 Ranchi - Varanasi Vande Bharat Express is India's 49th Vande Bharat Express train, which connects the capital city of Jharkhand, Ranchi with the pilgrimage spot of the Holy Ganges River, Varanasi in northern Uttar Pradesh.

[1][2] This express train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing from Ahmedabad on March 12 2024.

[6] It is the forty-seventh 2nd Generation and thirty-second Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train which was designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory at Perambur, Chennai under the Make in India Initiative.

[7] The 20887/20888 Ranchi - Varanasi Vande Bharat Express operates 6 days a week, covering a distance of 538 km (334 mi) in a travel time of 07 hrs 50 mins with average speed of 69 km/h.

The Maximum Permissible Speed (MPS) will be confirmed after commercial run.
