Sell Before We Dai, a fan group calling for an owner change at Reading, described the withdrawal from the Women’s Championship as "an absolute disgrace".

[18] In August 2024, following their demotion to the Southern Region Women's Football League, Reading announced that they would move their home games to Slough Town's Arbour Park.
