The event also featured the return of Nick Aldis, announcing his departure from the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) to sign a contract with Impact.
At Hard To Kill, Impact Wrestling announced Rebellion would take place in on April 16, 2023, at the Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

On the April 6 episode of Impact!, Dreamer, Uemura, and McCarty defeated Ray and The Good Hands in a six-man tag team match.
