Recovering the Satellites is the second studio album by American rock band Counting Crows, released on October 15, 1996, in the United States.
Vocalist Adam Duritz recorded two songs on piano with friends of his in Soul Rebels Brass Band that he could not figure out how to sequence with the rest of this album.
"Chelsea" would end up being a bonus track on Across a Wire: Live in New York City and "Good Luck" was presumed lost for several years, until in the early 2020s, HBO contacted Geffen Records to make a documentary on the band and they found the original masters of these recordings as well as video performances.
He criticized Duritz's song-writing as "self-pity[ing]" and called him a "classic solipsistic soul-barer, he just won't shut up about himself".
