Reid Patterson

Logan Reid Patterson (July 2, 1932 – January 15, 2014) was an American competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1956 Summer Olympics.

He won the NCAA national championship in the 100-yard freestyle in 1953,[1] setting the American record during the meet.

[2] Patterson won eight Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles during his tenure at Georgia.

[3] He set six SEC records while in Athens: the 50-, 100-, and 220-yard freestyles, the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes, and the 150-yard individual medley.

[4] Patterson finished fourth in the event final of the 100-meter freestyle at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia.
