Reino Nori

[2] Although the undersized Nori still managed to achieve All-Conference status as a guard on the North Illinois team during the 1935-36 season,[2] it was on the football field that he made his greatest mark.

Nori only saw action in a single game for the Bears in 1938, during which he ran the ball one time for one yard.

[6] Nori's prospects for the 1939 season initially seemed better as he was one of only two veteran quarterbacks being brought into camp at St. John's Military Academy by head coach and team owner George Halas.

[7] Unfortunately for Nori, there were also twenty rookies reporting to camp, including several prospects to play under center.

[7] One of these was a highly-touted rookie out of Columbia University taken second overall by the Bears in the 1939 NFL draft — future Hall of Famer Sid Luckman.

His scorebook was to be manufactured by a local printer and was anticipated to be ready for sale in time for the opening of the 1940 football season.
