First international success Reynaldo Vera González-Quevedo have in 1977 in Innsbruck, where he ranked 4th in World Junior Chess Championship.
[1] He is multiple participant of Cuban Chess Championship and two-time winner of these tournaments (1997, 2001).
[2] Reynaldo Vera González-Quevedo has achieved many successes on the international chess tournaments, including winning or shared the first places in Havana (1980), Varna (1986), León (1996), San Sebastián (2007).
