At the start of 2016, due to relocating, Metcalfe joined Gungahlin in AFL Canberra Women's.
[1][2][3] Metcalfe was drafted by Adelaide with their tenth selection and seventy-fourth overall in the 2016 AFL Women's draft,[4][5][6] after requesting from the Royal Australian Navy a posting in Adelaide and selecting South Australia as her preferred destination.
[2] She made her debut in the thirty-six point win against Greater Western Sydney at Thebarton Oval in the opening round of the 2017 season.
[7] She was a part of Adelaide's premiership side after the club defeated Brisbane by six points at Metricon Stadium in the AFL Women's Grand Final.
[16] She spent 2022 season 6 on the inactive list due to work commitments,[17] following which she announced her retirement from the AFLW.
