Ricci Luyties

As a member of the United States national volleyball team, he won a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.

[2] Luyties was inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame in 1995,[4] and in 1996 his jersey (11) was retired at Pauley Pavilion.

[5] Luyties was a member of the United States men's national volleyball team from 1985 to 1988, and helped secure a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics as a setter.

[1] The Olympic team was undefeated in seven matches,[6] and included three other UCLA alumni: Karch Kiraly, Steve Salmons, and Dave Saunders.

[2] Luyties was also a member of the national team that won the gold medal in the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis.

[5] Luyties obtained his first win in July 1988 at the AVP tour in Manhattan Beach, California with his partner, Karch Kiraly.

[8] His last season at Southern Mississippi was his most successful with an overall record of 27-5, obtaining the Golden Eagles first league title.
