Rifferswil is a village in the district of Affoltern in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.
Of this area, 66.4% is used for agricultural purposes, 22.7% is forested, 9% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (2%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (97.5%), with French being second most common ( 0.7%) and Italian being third ( 0.4%).
In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 32.7% of the vote.
In Rifferswil about 88.5% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either university or a Fachhochschule).
