It was established in 2020 by the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2020 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.

The university consists of five schools:[3] The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in creativity, education, healthcare and entrepreneurship.

[4] Rishihood University is established under The Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

[6] The University campus is spread over 25 acres situated in Sonipat, Haryana.
