Riverdale, California

Riverdale (formerly, Liberty Settlement)[7] is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fresno County, California, United States.

Riverdale is located 23 miles (37 km) south of Fresno,[7] at an elevation of 223 ft (68 m) above mean sea level.

[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.9 square miles (10 km2), all of it land.

[7] The place was originally called Liberty Settlement, but was renamed due to its proximity to the Kings River.

[citation needed] The 2010 United States Census[8] reported that Riverdale had a population of 3,153.

In total, 1,879 people (59.6% of the population) lived in owner-occupied housing units and 1,274 people (40.4%) lived in rental housing units.

As of the census[9] of 2000, 2,416 people, 728 households, and 599 families were living in the CDP.

The 773 housing units had an average density of 192.7 per square mile (74.4/km2).
