Roberto Carlos Leyva Cortez (born 27 October 1979) is a Mexican former professional boxer who competed from 1998 to 2011.
Leyva turned professional in 1998 & compiled a record of 18–0 before facing & defeating Daniel Reyes to win the vacant IBF mini-flyweight title.
He would lose the title to Colombian challenger Miguel Barrera.
He would attempt to regain the title against Barrera but would also lose in the rematch.
[1] Leyva would get another shot at a world title when he faced Luis Concepción for the interim WBA flyweight title, Leyva would get stopped in the fourth round.
