Robinson, Kansas

Robinson is a city in Brown County, Kansas, United States.

[4][5] It was named to honor the first governor of the State of Kansas, Charles Robinson.

[6] It had formerly been known locally as Lickskillet derived from the practice of an old trapper who allegedly put his dirty dishes out for his dog to lick clean.

[8] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.24 square miles (0.62 km2), all land.

23.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

29.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 20.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 13.8% of families and 22.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 39.1% of those under the age of eighteen and 22.2% of those 65 or over.
