[1] It is situated along U.S. Highway 190 in east central McCulloch County, approximately ten miles northeast of Brady.
[3] The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.
[4] Initial names for the community included Crewville and Crothers, both in honor of early McCulloch County residents.
[5] Several more schools, including Cowboy, Fairview, East Sweden, and Mercury had transferred their students to Rochelle by the end of 1937.
The Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway abandoned its track through the community in 1959, accelerating the rate of decline.
