[5][6] He first appeared in the Championship on 17 March, starting and being replaced towards the end of the 1–0 away loss to Ipswich Town, for which he earned praise from manager Neil Lennon.
[9] His first game in the Primeira Liga took place on 4 February 2017 when he played injury time in a 0–0 draw at Chaves,[10] and his first goal came early into the following season in a 2–1 defeat against Portimonense.
