Rock City is a village in Stephenson County, Illinois.
Very little is known on the early days of the town, but it is believed that a man known as Samuel Jay Davis built the first general store in 1859.

The three largest employers in Rock City are Pregl Services, US Bank, and Tri-District Ambulance.
There were 122 housing units at an average density of 855.9 per square mile (330.5/km2).
28.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
