It was produced by the production duo Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.

It was released on June 13, 1987,[2] peaking at #7 on the US Billboard Hot 100,[3] #10 on the US Cash Box Top 100[4] and was their second and final number one on the Hot Black Singles chart.
