Rocky Mountain District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod

The district also includes one congregation each from the states of Arizona and Nebraska.

It originally consisted of Colorado and Utah, and expanded as congregations were started elsewhere.

Delegates from each congregation meet in convention every three years to elect the district president, vice presidents, circuit counselors, a board of directors, and other officers.

The oldest congregation in the district, Hope Lutheran Church of Westcliffe, Colorado, was founded in 1872.

Its present building was built in 1917 and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978.
