The energy generated at this wind farm is sold to the South African national electricity utility company Eskom, under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
[1][2] The power station is located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of the town of Matjiesfontein, in Central Karoo District Municipality, Western Cape Province.
[5] The concession for this wind farm was awarded to G7 Renewable Energies of South Africa in 2015, as part of the fourth round of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP), of the Republic of South Africa.
[7] The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract was awarded to Nordex, a German manufacturer of electric wind turbines.
