Rolleston on Dove

[1] Mentioned in the Domesday Book Survey of 1086, Rolleston was a settlement in the Hundred of Offlow, Staffordshire.

[4] Rolleston was originally built around the hall, the church and the stream running through it, the Alder brook.

Sir Oswald Mosley, the founder of the British Union of Fascists spent some of his earlier years at the family seat here.

The family coat of arms are still displayed in what was originally the Victorian Commemoration Hall which is now Rolleston Club.

Rolleston is also home to the Jinnie Trail, a former railway line in a man-made valley which was closed completely in 1968.
