The newspaper praised Diaz for being "superb on alto" and for his "show-stopping rendition" of the song "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face".

[10] In 1984 he started music production company, Musicad, that won a lot of awards for advertising campaigns throughout its operation.

He has worked in close partnership with a composer and talk-show host, James Wong, and he has also collaborated with film directors such as Louis Ng, Tsui Hark, Zhang Yimou and John Woo.
