When Battaglia went back to school to get her PhD, she stopped teaching physical education but was still working.
[1] Battaglia began her coaching career at Paramus Catholic High School in New Jersey.
She also coached at St. Michael's High School in Union City and Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth.
In 2000, she was named the New Jersey Collegiate Basketball Coaches Association Lifetime Achievement Award recipient.
Along with six others, Battaglia was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in June 2018 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
