Ryal played two seasons at Cowley County Community College and was a NJCAA second team All-American in 2003 and a two-time All-Jayhawk selection.
[2] In his first major league at bat, Ryal got a pinch hit single off of Elmer Dessens in the 8th inning against New York Mets.
[4] Ryal hit his first big league home run against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Randy Wolf.
In December 2012, he signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and was assigned to the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes.
On June 4, 2014, Ryal signed a minor league deal with the Philadelphia Phillies, and was released from the team's Triple-A affiliate on July 17, 2014.
