[1] It is located on the left bank of the Orla River, approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) east of Kobylin.
Following the successful Greater Poland uprising of 1806, it was regained by Poles and included within the short-lived Duchy of Warsaw.
During that period (1815–1848), it belonged to the larger villages in the district of Kreis Krotoschin in the administrative region of Posen.
According to the official census from 1837, the village hit a possible peak population at 196 inhabitants, who lived in 19 houses.
[7] When the Rzemiechów forest clearing later took place, the village was noted to have been reduced to only 1 house and 4 inhabitants.
