SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing

Hans De Sterck is the current editor-in-chief, assuming the role in January 2022.

The first type papers focus on theoretical analysis, provided that relevance to applications in science and engineering is demonstrated.

The second type papers pay much attention to describing novel methodologies for solving a specific problem in computational science or engineering.

However, the primary focus should be on computational methods that have huge impact on scientific or engineering problems.

The modern numerical analysis can be dated back to 1947 when John von Neumann and Herman Goldstine wrote a pioneering paper, “Numerical Inverting of Matrices of High Order” (Bulletin of the AMS, Nov. 1947).
