SS Hebble

SS Hebble was a freight vessel built for the Goole Steam Shipping Company Limited in 1891.

[2] Hebble was built by William Dobson and Company in Walker Yard for the Goole Steam Shipping Company Limited[3] and launched on 7 July 1891.

Hebble was obtained by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in 1905.

On 12 August 1908, Hebble was damaged in a collision with the Yarmouth steamer Armourer in the Humber estuary.

She struck a mine and sank in the North Sea 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km) east of Roker, County Durham (54°55′N 1°18′W / 54.917°N 1.300°W / 54.917; -1.300), England, with the loss of five of her crew.
