Frederick Samuel Baines (1858–1939) was an Anglican bishop.
He was educated at Winchester and University College, Oxford,[1] and ordained in 1882.
[2] His first post was as Curate at Holy Trinity, Leeds,[3] after which he was Vicar of St Cuthbert, Hunslet.
[4] Later he was Archdeacon of Durban and then Secretary of the Council for Service Abroad.
In 1901 he was elevated to the episcopate as Bishop of Natal[5] and served the diocese for twenty-eight years.
