Samuel S. Kortum (born December 1960) is an American economist and currently James Burrows Moffatt Professor of Economics at Yale University.
His research focuses on international trade and industrial organisation.
[1] Kortum's first academic position was as an assistant professor at Boston University.
He left for an associate professorship at the University of Minnesota in 2001 and was promoted to full professor in 2004.
[2][3] The Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences elected him fellow in 2011 and 2016, respectively.
