Sandviken is a traditional neighbourhood of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway.
[1] Geographically, it is located northeast of the city center, in a small bay off the Byfjorden.
The neighbourhood begins north of Bergenhus Fortress, and follows the coastline facing west.
The Sandvik Road is the main thoroughfare through the area, which mostly consists of residential buildings.
The early development of Sandviken consisted largely of water mills and shipyards.
