Born in the United States,[1] Krasnostein completed a BA/LLB (honours) degree from the University of Melbourne in 2005.
Her thesis, "Pursuing Consistency: The Effect of Different Reforms on Unjustified Disparity in Individualised Sentencing Frameworks", was awarded the Mollie Holman Doctoral Medal for Law.
