Sarah Worthington

Dame Sarah Elizabeth Worthington, DBE, KC (Hon), FBA, FRSA (née Monks; born 18 February 1955) is a British legal scholar, professor at LSE Law School, barrister, and Deputy High Court Judge in the Chancery Division, specialising in company law, commercial law, and equity.

[1][6][7] From 1975 to 1976, she was a doctoral candidate at the University of Queensland, undertaking cancer research; she left without completing.

Having studied part-time, she graduated from the University of Queensland with a first class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 1986.

[1] She undertook postgraduate research in law at Wolfson College, Cambridge, and completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 1995.

[1] From 1978 to 1979, she was a senior science teacher at San Sisto College, an all-girls Catholic school in Brisbane, Queensland.

[1][11] From 2010 to 2015, she was Cheng Yu Tong Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Hong Kong.

[16] In February 2010, she was appointed Queen's Counsel (Honoris Causa) and thereby granted the post-nominal letters "QC (Hon)".

[18] She was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2020 Birthday Honours for services to English private law.
