Saugerties South is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States.

The community lies on the west bank of the Hudson River.

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 2,285 people, 865 households, and 642 families residing in the CDP.

There were 885 housing units at an average density of 906.3 per square mile (349.9/km2).

23.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
