to represent a shift to a more solution oriented vision rather than merely advocating for the SIF specification, including using multiple standards to address school and district issues.
A4L was founded as a working group for the Schools Interoperability Framework in 1997 by vendors with the support of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).
In April 2003, SIFA was incorporated with it and activities within SIF projects of the SIIA were transferred to the current corporation.
Each regional Technical Board is composed of the lead of each A4L Project Team and Task Force and four members elected At-Large by the membership.
