Schroon Lake (/ˈskruːn/ SKROON)[2] is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Schroon in Essex County, New York, United States.

U.S. Route 9 is the main road through the community, while Interstate 87 passes through the western part of the CDP.

The CDP extends north along US 9 to Alder Meadow Road and south to Kates Way.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Schroon Lake CDP has a total area of 3.68 square miles (9.54 km2), of which 2.89 square miles (7.48 km2) is land and 0.80 square miles (2.07 km2), or 27.34%, is water.
