Sciota Township, Dakota County, Minnesota

Sciota Township was organized in 1858, and named after a place in Ohio.

[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 15.0 square miles (38.7 km2), all land.

The racial makeup of the township was 97.54% White, 0.70% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 1.40% from other races.

9.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 6.0% of families and 9.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 6.0% of those under the age of eighteen and 24.0% of those sixty five or over.
