Scrobipalpa obsoletella, the summer groundling, is a moth of the family Gelechiidae.
It is found in most of Europe, Turkey, the Caucasus, from Iran to Asian Russia (Transbaikal) and Mongolia.
It has also been recorded from New Zealand, South Africa and North America, where it is probably an introduced species.
[2][3] The habitat consists of coastal salt marshes and sandy beaches.
Forewings pale greyish-ochreous, sprinkled with dark fuscous and ochreous-whitish; stigmata dark fuscous, first discal rather beyond plical; a dark fuscous spot close beyond and slightly beneath second discal, sometimes confluent with it; an indistinct fine pale angulated fascia at 3/4, sometimes obsolete.
